Ontario introduced new Payday Loan laws in April 2007. The are an estimate 750 payday loan companies in Ontario. Points in the new legislation include:

• Fees will be made clear to Ontario Payday Loan consumers
• Standardized contracts will be used
• Visible posters will be displayed in the stores
• Provide appropriate consumer protection
• Cash Advances to be given immediately after contract signing
