I was in a bind and wasn't able to locate cash quickly. I was able to get the needed funds at the Cash Store but ended up in the payday loan cycle. Don't go there, their fees are crazy and it is hard to get out.

"Used for Rent"

Review:
I was desperate used them to cover my rent. BIG MISTAKE. Many hidden fees, whopping interest, the list goes on. I involved my provincial Consumer Protection Branch, who already had them on radar, they ordered nearly $200 off the amount I owed. That was after they went into my chequing account on a payday and withdrew an amount that was to cover my rent. Line of credit? BS! Manitoba limits what payday loan firms can advance, Cash SStore gets around it by calling themselves a 'finance company'. Never again.

"Bad Deal"

Review:
I think the cash Store is a ripoff!! payday loans do serve a genuine purpose and I believe they play an important role in financial inclusion for those unable to have access to more mainstream lenders. It is an industry that has no shortage of bad press due to a very few but high profile lenders that charge unscrupulous fees. Anywhere up to $30 is a reasonable amount to have to repay on a $100 loan over a 30 day period when you consider the cost to the lender to pay rent, staff etc and make a profit. And in exchange you get provided a quick and easy alternative to applying for an overdraft or requesting to defer a payment etc which can take up to 5 business days for approval- no good when you are short on cash today!!The Cash store has somehow managed to operate their "sweat shop" for over a decade now but their unbelievable arrogance is catching up to them finally, it's just unfortunate that in the process they have managed to make the entire industry look bad. cant wait until the are gone and hopefully the industry can get back to doing what they do best providing a great service to everyday people at a competitive price

I bought a cash card from the Cash Store, they didn't tell me the expiration date, and it expired even though I still had $50 dollars or so on it. No help from customer service.
